Is it time for Carlos Delgado to take a seat?

Everyone seems to have an opinion on this, that leads to him either being benched, or being released, but who would take up the slack? Carlos, through Monday, was hitting .234 with 11 homers and 35 rbi’s, with an on base percentage of .307. He ranks near the bottom of the league in first basemen, when it comes to his hitting this year. How does he compare with other first basemen in the National League East? Not too good, when you leave out the Nationals, who are without the services of Nick Johnson, and have Aaron Boone and Dimitri Young platooning. See below
.avg home runs rbi walks.
Marlins Mike Jacobs and Wes Helms. .245 21 67 20
Atlanta Mark Teixeira .271 13 55 41
Phillies Ryan Howard . 220 19 53 40
Mets Carlos Delgado . 234 11 35 28

Now I know Wes Helms has played 3rd base, and pinch hit, etc., but he only has 4 home runs, so I left him in, but, it's so obvious for a position that’s supposed to be one of your power positions, the Mets aren’t getting much from it. He has 35 rbis in 75 games, on pace for maybe 70 for the season?. Yikes!!!! When it comes to who would take up the slack, does it matter? I mean, maybe the player who does, might not hit the homerun with no one on, that Delgado does. This player might actually get a hit in a clutch situation. more than once a month. I used to be a Delgado fan, its hard to be on his side when his numbers are this low. My other question is …where is his book? You used to see him write in his book, all the time, and you never see that anymore. Maybe he should bring it back, because at this point anything might help. In Tuesday's post game, Manuel said there needs to be some changes. Well, let's see if one of those changes is Delgado……

THANK YOU!!!!!!

Someone who finally gets it. I have been saying this for weeks. Stick a fork in him....HE IS DONE!

Get me a kid, I'll take my chances...eat the money, and send a message to the rest of the team.
