Yesterday, we reported that the Mets were about to hire Wayne Krivsky as a scout. Now, it’s official. Krivsky will be a special assistant to Mets' GM Omar Minaya, based out of Cincinnati, but he will travel. He is expected to do some scouting before the July 31st trade deadline, then special assignments in August and September. Krivsky is signed through Oct. 31st.

A future replacement for the much maligned Tony Bernazard?
I hope he's a replacement for Bernazard, who is being justifiably torched by the media.
