The Mets won today, by a score of 3-1, behind another Carlos Beltran home run, and some solid pitching from Pelfrey. He did, however, give up 5 walks, but did record his 2nd win, in as many starts, pitching 5 and 2/3 innings. The bullpen did hold off the Rockies, after Joe Smith gave up a solo home run . Sanchez and Wagner pitched scoreless 8th and 9th innings. Now, the Mets travel home, to see Seattle, who took it on the chin, from the Braves. Met fans, tomorrow, get to welcome the Mets, and their new manager, Jerry Manuel. The road trip started off with Omar axing Willie, after the first game of the road trip, that led to days of media attention. Now with that over, the Mets can just concentrate on just taking it day by day and not be concerned about the willie watch anymore. The Mets have won their last 3 series, and now play Seattle for 3, and the Yankees for 4. Hopefully, we will see Ryan Church, sometime during the Yankee series. They're back to .500, and hopefully, starting monday night, can get above .500, and move away from that watermark, for good.
