Fernando Martinez, widely considered the Mets’ # 1 prospect, conveniently an outfielder, as they may need him later this year, or in 2009, was named to the World roster for the XM All-Star Futures Game, which will be played at 12:37 p.m. on Sunday at Yankee Stadium.
Martinez is hitting .299 for Binghamton (AA), with 4 HR’s and 21 RBI’s.
