In-Game Adjustment…

Apparently, Rick Ankiel hit a hanging split-fingered fastball, for a two-run homer, in the first inning of last night’s game.

Tony Armas Jr., and his catcher, Ramon Castro, decided to rely upon primarily his fastball and slider, for the rest of the game, with improved results.

Nice job – this allowed Armas to stay in the game for six innings, and give the bullpen a little rest, after John Maine pitched only 4 innings, the night before.
