In Praise Of Matt Yallof, Ron Darling & Harold Reynolds…

Last night, I loved watching the Mets’ pre-game and post-game shows, with Matt, Ron & Harold.

Matt does a nice job of controlling the shows, and leading Ron & Harold to provide analysis.

Ron has been helping in the studio while Lee Mazzilli is on vacation, and Darryl Strawberry is in-between cameo appearances.

Where is Darryl ? It’s always good to see him.

Ron is smooth, and polished, and when it’s just Ron & Matt, it’s similar to Matt with Lee Mazzilli, polished, smooth, not much laughing or clowning around.

Here comes Harold Reynolds…

I LOVE THIS GUY !!!

No one in the SNY Studios breaks down film, recognizes a problem, and offers a solution, better than Reynolds.

And he gets Matt & Ron to loosen up (very similar to when Keith Hernandez is with Gary Cohen & Ron Darling. When it’s Gary & Ron its smooth and polished. When Keith shows up, it’s fantastic, you never know what’s happening next).

Harold was making a point, when he turned to Matt Yallof, and asked Matt, if he could ask a question to Ron Darling. All of them started to laugh, and they made fun of this for the rest of the broadcast, because all of them were silly, goofy, and giggly after that moment.

Harold Reynolds reminds me of Keith Hernandez in that they’re great to listen to, they offer brutally honest feedback, excellent analysis, and have the ability to change the personalities of their broadcast partners.

Last night’s SNY pre-game and post-game shows were so much fun to watch and listen to. Matt, Ron & Harold were obviously having a great time, and it was a joy to watch.

Thanks, guys, for the entertainment.

Can't agree more with you on Harold. I like the fact that Harold is ready to promote the Mets rather than criticize every last thing that goes wrong.
