Honestly, I disagree with it.
I think he had to come in, and change the culture. Do you think Willie would have handled Jose Reyes, the same way Jerry did, in his first game. He wouldn’t have even tried to talk to him afterwards.
Also, how many games has Jerry been thrown out, backing up his players?
Yes, you hoped the Mets would have turned it around , but Jerry has helped that transformation.
