Jose, Jose, Jose, Jose - Jose, Jose...is not feeling the love. After his well documented "slamming" of his glove last Sunday against the Yankees, Jose was said to have shown up a teammate. Or, they say he is immature, self-centered, etc. Why was Paul O'Neill never criticized for taking a bat to a water cooler?
Personally, I didn't particularly care for his action, but would never kill him for it. This kid shows more passion for the game than anyone wearing Orange and Blue. He is immature, yes, but he loves the game, and plays with such reckless abandon, the likes we haven't seen since Mookie. He is the most exciting player in baseball.
Carlos DelStatue even came to Jose's defense, stating, "My bad. I should have had that ball. I think it all got blown out of proportion. It was pretty unfair. I think he is a great teammate. It's funny how sometimes we get criticized for not showing emotions and this is a kid who is upset that he made an error. And he got crushed for that, too. Sometimes you just can't win."
