Mets Make It Look Easy...

The Mets played a good game, on all sides of the ball tonight, and won their 5th in a row, beating the Giants 5-0. There was a rain delay in the 5th, and Santana didn't come back after the 40 min delay, which made you think that he was hurt. After the game, he said he was fine, and was ready to go back in, but Jerry Manuel said he didn't put him back in, since his pitch count was close to 80, and he thinks he can be used again, before the All-Star break, maybe in relief of Mike Pelfrey, on Sunday.

The Mets have won 5 straight, for the first time since mid-May. Ramon Castro provided the punch, with a 3 run blast, with 2 out, in the 4th. Carlos Delgado has awakened from his slumber, and had 3 hits, 2 doubles, and a single. The Mets, with 2 out hits lately, have been unbelievable.

The stars of the game have to be the Mets' bullpen, who pitched 4 innings of scoreless relief ! To be honest, I didn't give them much faith, with only a 3 run lead at the time, but they proved me wrong. The team is clicking, with different players, each night, being the star. Tomorrow, they go for the sweep, with John Maine, in a 1:00 EST p.m. start!
