Mets’ Pitchers Set Modern Era (Since 1900) Record…

The Mets held the Rockies to one hit on Saturday, after Colorado had three hits on Friday, and the Giants had three hits, in each of the Mets' previous three games.

It's the first time in modern (since 1900) major league history that a team has held its opponents to three or fewer hits in each of five consecutive games.

The last team to allow a total of 13 or fewer hits over a five-game span was the 1961 Washington Senators, (the team that became the Texas Rangers), a first-year expansion team that did it less than six weeks after its first game!

However, besides the Mets, no other team since 1900 has allowed 13-or-fewer hits and four-or-fewer runs over a five-game span.
