It didn't start out too pretty, and almost ended up with someone heading to the DL, but all in all, the Mets scored a comeback win tonight, 7-4. The first inning wasn't promising, with 2 runners thrown out on the base paths, and the Cardinals getting to Armas early, with a 2 run homer, by Rick Ankiel.
It was starting to look like another long game for the Mets. They battled back from being down 3-1, to tie the score, with a clutch hit by Castro.
The Mets then pulled ahead for good, with a 3 run inning, and another RBI for Castro.
Delgado had a big night with 3 hits. Wright hit a solo shot, to give the Mets their last run.
Armas settled down after the first 2 innings, and went 6 sorely needed innings.
Tony LaRussa used only 1 relief pitcher, and even let him bat, with a man on, which was pretty odd.
Scary moment with Duaner Sanchez taking a shot off the back of his knee, in the 8th, that flattened him to the ground.
Wags pitched a scoreless 9th, and the Mets had a nice win tonight...
