Pedro’s Injured…

During today’s FOX broadcast, Kenny Albert and Tim McCarver did a poor job updating Mets’ fans about Pedro’s injury.

After 3 and ½ innings, Pedro was shown in the Mets’ dugout, while the Mets were hitting. Head trainer Ray Ramirez, Jerry Manuel, Dan Warthen & Carlos Beltran were seen talking to Pedro. Carlos Muniz was shown warming up in the bullpen.

At that point, Pedro had pitched 4 innings, allowing no runs, and only one hit, and his pitch count was not anywhere near 100, so Pedro was expected to pitch in the top of the 5th inning.

Then, Nick Evans entered the on-deck circle, and eventually pinch-hit for Pedro.

Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal (thank God he was there – his comments are intelligent) reported that he had not spoken to Pedro, but, Pedro made eye contact with Rosenthal. Pedro pointed to his own groin, and gestured that it was nothing serious, so that’s what Rosenthal reported.

Later, Kenny Albert just casually slid into the conversation, as if it was nothing, just before they went to commercial after 4 and ½ innings, that Pedro left the game with shoulder stiffness.

WHAT ???

Kenny Albert is one of the Albert brothers (Marv, Al, Steve) of broadcasting. The Alberts breed broadcasters the way the Sutter family breeds hockey players.

Albert was better than Joe Buck, but, that’s not saying much. If you want my true feelings about Joe Buck & Tim McCarver, click on the hyperlink.

Thanks, Fox, for leaving Mets fans confused and aggravated.
