Will The Streaking Mets Be Tied For 1st, Before They Play Tonight...

Its kind of weird to write that, knowing where this team was, just a month ago. The drama that was playing out every day, was a lot more than most players, and fans, could take.

Now, winners of their last 8, the Mets have put the drama to bed, and are playing like they should be. The Mets, depending upon what goes on, in the Phils vs. D'backs game, could be tied for first, before the first pitch. Of course the Marlins play into that, as well.

Looking at the Phils vs. D'backs game today, you have the battle of 2 aces, Brandon Webb against Cole Hamels.

Brandon Webb, 13-4, is back on his horse, after a 2 game slide. In his last 3 starts, he is 2-0, with a 3.50 era. In his last start, he gave up no runs, on 6 hits.

Cole Hamels, 9-6, is 2-1, in last 3 starts, and that loss, was giving up, only 2 runs. He has pitched at least 7 innings, in each start, going back to the end of May. His ERA over the last 30 days, is 2.95

Of course, with this game looking like a pitchers duel, it would be nice to see Hamels get blown out, by the D'backs.

The Mets, since Jerry Manuel has become manager, are 16-9, while The Phils are 9-14, and the Marlins are 12-12, during that same stretch. Now, you can't expect the Mets to win every game, but, it would be nice, if during the next 25 games, they can be 16-9 again.
