There was encouring news about John Maine yesterday. The Daily News reports that he will probably pitch a simulated game at Shea on Friday.
Hopefully the powers that be can see past John masking himself. I believe that he will not advise the Mets about any pain. Which would be foolish.
He is scheduled to pitch a week from today against the Nationals.

Think you may be right about Maine. As far as a fan goes, Maine has probably been my favorite pitcher there since the Mets aquired him, but what's the latest on the bone spur in his shoulder. If he is not healthy, I don't want to see him go out there and not have his effective velocity, or get set back even further by injury.
