The Mets announced before todays game with the Pirates that they traded Anderson Hernandez for relief pitcher Luis Ayala of the Nationals.
Luis was having a bad year for the Nationals going 1-8 with a era over 5. This I'm sure was predicated with Billy Wagner not being ready to come off the DL .
Luis Ayala will be with the Mets in time for mondays afternoon game.
