Mets won earlier this evening against the Marlins 8-6.
Highlights include the Mets 3 -4-5 hitters having a great night going 7-11 with 5 rbis's . David Wright and Carlos Beltran, who was batting 4th again tonight, each had 3 hits including Carlos Beltran's solo home run over the centerfield fence. His first home run in 82 abats.
Carlos Delgado hit his 25th home run a 2 run shot.
Daniel Murphy had a pinch hit 2 run home run . The kid is hitting .500
Brian Stokes pitch ok but gave up 2 run home runs to Jorge Cantu and Mike Jacobs. Jacobs home run tied the score at 4.
AAron Heilman pitch the ninth and just gave up 1 walk and then shut the shut the door for his 2nd save in as many nights. I think as he walked off the mound he actually smiled.
Good win for the Mets who go for the sweep sunday with Mike Pelfrey on the mound going for his 11 win.

Hey JOBU -
Like I said im my post, "I would trust my five year old daughter to finish the ninth more than what the Mets have thrown out there...granted she is a lefty, and it would take her about five throws to reach homeplate, but I would trust her more than our present closing staff. Jerry Manuel keeps saying he is using a closer-by-committee...shouldn't it be re-coined blown-save-by-committee?", and I still stand by it!
