Mike Piazza at Shea to say Goodbye! Who else? Why the Big secret?

Read about Mike at the last game http://longislandmetfan.blogspot.com/2008/09/shea-goodbye-lights-turned-off-at-shea.html

Not sure why the Mets are holding back on us.

Yesterday Newsday reported that Mike Piazza will be back at Shea to say goodbye the stadium he called home for 8 years. Wow what a shocker!! Like we didn’t think he would be there. The guy who everyone came to see when he played for the Mets.

The problem is why is this such a big secret? Why as fans do we need to find out at the last minute what to expect? Are you waiting for the Yankees to announce there plans so you don’t get trumped?

We as fans want to know if Mookie will be there. How about Jerry Koosman? I’m sure Tom Seaver will be there. Does he know yet? Will it be a week of festivities or just one game?

People like to have something to look forward to going into the last month of the season.

Do we need to wait until then to find out?

I have a feeling they (the Mets) will offer an invitation to most, if not all, individuals that wore a Mets uniform...excluding George Foster, Mel Rojas, and Juan Samuel!
