On Wednesday Nick Evans visited the Baseball World students in Westport, CT. Evans taught the young baseball players how to catch a ball properly, to hit the cut-off man, position yourself to be able to make a throw, and tips on hitting.
The students really took to Evans, with some youngsters stating the following:
"I thought he was a great instructor and taught us the right mechanics in the outfield," said Weston resident and incoming seventh grader Sawyer Gaines. "I think it has to do with the fact he plays in the majors and knows what it's like to be in that situation when he competes."
Anthony Petrosinelli, an incoming fourth grader from Saugatuck Elementary School said, "He's a great player. He's my favorite instructor because he taught us how to catch a flyball."
Another fourth grader Cooper Boardman said, "I think so because you can tell he really knows how to do his job and he did a really good job teaching us."
