Mets win slug fest hold on to beat Nats. Extend lead to 3.5 over Phillies


A win is a win but this was ugly. Pelfrey couldn't keep it together tonight and hold a 7-1 lead. By the time he left it was 7-5 Good ole AAron Heilman gave a 2 run shot to Cristian Guzman to tie the score. The Mets did score 4 to give the Mets a 11-7 lead but Cristian Guzman hit his 2nd home run of the night . That is the first time in his career that he has hit 2 home runs in a game.

Now with the score 11-10 David Wright has found his stroke in this series going 4-4 tonight and hit a 2 run home run in the 8th to put the game away and the Mets won 13-10 .
