Shea goodbye countdown Gary Carter #8

Well its pretty easy looking at who has worn number 8 to pick who was the one who stands out. I mean Yogi Berra was a pretty good coach and a Manager for the 73 Mets that made it to the World Series. After Yogi its kind of slim pickings.

Dan Norman? He did get traded for Seaver. Carlos Baerga? Desi Relaford had a mean fastball when he pitched in a lopsided victory .

I think the "kid" Gary Carter wins this one hands down. The question is will we see him Sunday before the Mets play the Braves out in the field to drop the countdown # to 8? He has made himself scarce ever since his mouth got him in trouble with making comments about managing when Willie was on the hot seat. The hall of famer has been managing in the independent leagues.

What is your take on it? Will the Mets let him do the honors? Vote in our latest pole.

after the comments that KID made during the willie fiasco, the mets will not ask him to participate.

You might be right but the wilpons admitted they made a mistake with the way they handled willie's firing so you think they would give Carter a pass..It would be a nice gesture to say lets move on and celebrate his met career and the closing of Shea
