Wow .. Must be great to make ownership over the last 2-3 years fork over an additional 60 Million dollars to help the Mets bring a World Championship to NY. Only problem is that the Mets haven't won a world championship or made the playoffs since 2006 . No worries, the Wilpons reward Omar with extending his contract another 3 years. Must be nice to not really win anything and watch your team fold under pressure and get rewarded for it.
I just don't see the logic here. I would leave Omar hanging on the ledge and make him produce a team that not just makes the playoffs but gets deep in the playoffs, then reward him. Seems pretty hollow to me. Don't produce and get rewarded. Does not work in the real world. Do the Wilpons give bonuses to all there employees? Even the ones who show up late and do shoddy work?
