Willie Randolph was offered and accepted the bench coaching job for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Ken Mach had said he was looking at picking a former big league Manager that had knowledge of the National League. Willie Randolph who had declined the bench coach for the Nationals earlier this off season took the job with knowing that if he is offered a Managers job with another big league team the Brewers wont stop him
