Wow...looks like the Mets are taking no prisoners in these winter meetings. The Mets have just traded for Mariners reliever J J Putz in a 3 team deal.
The Mets will be sending Endy Chavez, AAron Heilman and Mike Carp to the Mariners the Indians will get Joe Smith. The Mets will receive JJ Putz, outfielder Jeremy Reed and reliever Sean Green.
J J Putz will be under contract for 5.5 Million on 09 and the club has an option for him for 2010 for 10 million.

**** Jeremy Reed hit .269 in 286 at bats last year. He is 27 years old . The Mets will use him in the same way Endy Chavez was used last year. Everyone loved Endy though he sill be missed. *****
