Mets go all out with new inaugural patch for there home Jerseys.

Wow I have to tell you I am totally impressed by the design the Mets have made for the Jerseys they will have on this year at Citi Field in 2009. It has the front of the stadium with the big arches . They did a great job. Oh wait a second. I am sorry the patch they will have is this non descript patch to the right here. What were the Mets thinking.

Paul Lukas says it best. It is the worst patch in MLB history to check out his take read what he says about it
here

The Mets we know sold out to Citi bank. Of course now that is why no reference to the name of the park can be on the Jersey. Of course then why not just a depiction of the stadium on the patch like other teams have done? NO cant be interesting . Why would we want that?

The Mets prefer to just have something that is boring as heck. This is what happens when a team sells out. The Mets now have Citi bank crying since they only want the likeliness of the park being sold on merchandise in the park. That is why you will be able to buy jerseys in the park with the patch to the left .

The lowly Mets though will have the patch that was designed by the pizza boys to the right . Good job guys. Nice way to really show some style.

That’s ok . I bet we will see the other patch on jerseys on ebay soon.
