Over at mlbtraderumors Tim has a little blurb that Chad Cordero “is ahead of schedule and teams will watch him throw this week. The Nationals had said he wouldn't be able to throw until June due to last summer's labrum/biceps surgery”.
He also goes on to mention the Mets are one of the teams interested based on reports. I can not see the Mets showing much interest in Cordero at this point.
The Mets already had 2 closers on this team and lets not forget surgery survivor Duaner Sanchez, who is another year removed from his shoulder surgery. If the Mets have learned anything about these surgeries is that the first year back the velocity is not there.
I think at this point it will be ok to look but not worth buying the merchandise. Would he be any better then Brian Stokes at this point.
