Mets minor league pitcher, Junior Guerra, was suspended for 50 games for violating baseball's banned substance policy. Guerra tested positive for an indicator of the steroid nandrolone. He is on the roster of Triple-A Buffalo.

His suspension will begin at the beginning of the 2009 season.

Last year Guerra pitched for the Mets Minor League teams – Kingsport (R), Brooklyn (A), Savannah (A), and St. Lucie (A).

Guerra is a hard thrower who looks to “blow hitters away”. The Mets worked with him on developing secondary pitches.
