Omar Minaya on SNY Hot Stove last night.

Just to hit some of the comments from Omar regarding the Mets in 2009.

His priority is to finish off the starting staff with another pitcher. He will work on that first and foremost. After that is resolved he might look at a bat that is willing to commit to 1 year. He does not want to invest in any long term deals. He is fine with going into the 2009 season with the platoon in left field.

The Mets bullpen in 08 was lousy. The Mets finished the year only 3 games out of first place and 1 game out of the playoffs. Was the offense the cause or the bullpen? Yes Church was out and Delgado started off slow but if the 2 of them have decent years the Mets really do not need a lot of extra offensive punch. If anything they need a right handed hitter.

When it comes to questions about Manny Ramirez he still goes back on his mantra pitching is what is needed. Less then 30 days to pitchers and catchers report in florida.

Will the Mets have that pitcher they want by next week? Stay tuned!
