Well not really but since there is nothing going on out there, Steve Popper chimes in on bringing back Pedro as a 5th starter. He likes the fact that he can teach Niese and Parnell the art of pitching and that Pedro wants to pitch cause he feels like he owes the Mets. Look Santana can teach the news guys just as well as Martinez. Did Popper watch the saturday game at the end of the season where Santana dominated to give the Mets a chance on the last day of the season.
if they want to give Pedro a chance here, I can only see it if they bring in no one to battle for the 5th spot. Do you think Pedro wants to battle for a 5th spot against Jon Garland or what have you? I cant see him doing it. Pedro hates the cold and will be ineffective at home until late may or june if he is able to pitch at all. I don't think Pedro owes us anything. Time to move on.
