Luis Castillo will arrive in St Lucie today.

Ok so he will not get the media attention that A Rod will get in tampa but Luis still has a lot to prove to the Mets and there fans.

Castillo is coming off a horrible year and the expectations for 2009 for him are tremendous. Jerry Manuel since he has been in camp has discussed how important it is for Luis to get off on a good foot. “I plan to spend a lot of time with him in spring training,” Manuel said.

The Mets did there best to unload Castillo during this past off season but his 3 years at 6M per were a definite issue in trying to trade the infielder.

The Mets batting order needs him at the top of the order creating havoc by getting on base. Having him bat 8th will give the Mets 2 outs at the bottom of the order.

When he arrives today he better be in shape to give it his best because the Mets all have expectations for the team this year and Castillo needs to add to this team and not be a liability.
