New Met Outfielder Jeremy Reed has some kind words for former Manager Wally Backman.

Yes it is spring training time and the beat writers are descending onto Pt St Lucie. Adam Rubin over at the Daily News has a small piece on former Mariner Jeremy Reed who spent time in the White Sox organization under former Met Wally Backman.

Reed said. “He’s an unbelievable manager. Those kind of guys, they believe in you and you see it and it helps you strive to be the player you are.”

Backman was in the independent league managing the last couple of years since the D-Backs deal did not work out in November of 2004.
