In his blog yesterday Adam Rubin mentions that the reason Delgado was missing from the line up was his hip.
The hip after Sundays game was pretty sore and by the time Monday came around it was pretty stiff.
Now Carlos and the Mets are discussing the possibility of being placed on the DL even though team doctors have mentioned that time would not heal the joint.
Losing Delgado in the lineup would be tough for the Mets to overcome. Willie Mo Pena has not looked good playing first for Buffalo and Nick Evans looks to be demoted to Binghamton since he is on a 7 for 75 stretch at Buffalo.
It will be nice to have Fernando Tatis in the lineup if Carlos goes on the DL but not at the cost of Delgado’s big bat which the Mets sorely need.
