Gary Sheffield and his refuse to lose mentality.

For now Mr. Sheffield has not caused any grief with his play and his hitting. Now of course he could be hitting better then is Mendoza average but he does bring a mentality to this team that is hard pressed to find on other players except for import Alex Cora. Sheff mentions that he sees Beltran as possibly a “quiet assassin in a story in the NY Post.

He also says that "You got to be up there on the top step of the dugout letting teams know, 'We're going to beat you.' If you do that, teams will quit a lot of times."

If Sheff is going to infuse that mentality in some players then I say go for it. He does not sound like Sheff right now is showing any signs of being a negative on this team.

He better practice what he preaches though .As long as he is ok with the team getting on him the first time he does not hustle!
