As the calendar turns to September the Mets have a chance to win 3 in a row with there win last night against the Cubbies. The Mets have not won back to back games in weeks. What is more shocking that or the fact that we are in September already and its labor day weekend. Can someone tell me where did the summer go?
For most of this summer its been a slow go watching the Mets score 2, 3 runs a game they are like 20 games under 500 in there last 80 games. Now we are in September and the fantastic 4 have done a bang up job. Its nuts that Pelf has been a bust lately and we are getting gems from Pat Misch, Tim Redding and Figgy. Now Parnell joins the frey with his 7 innings of shut out ball against the free swinging Cubs.
That 7th inning was a big step for Parnell. After the game he discussed that inning and was focusing on keeping the ball low. He needs to build on that and show some consistency something good ole Mr Pelf has lacked. He starts against the Marlins next week.
The Mets starters over the last couple of games have an ERA under 2. We thank you guys for keeping us in the game while the offense does its best to chug towards a victory. With Beltran on the horizon is it possible that in the last 25 or so games the Mets might get some enjoyment out of beating possible playoff teams? 6 of there last 12 games are against the Marlins and Braves.
Might be fun giving the Marlins a little payback if there still in the hunt.
