Gary Sheffield and Carlos Delgado done?

From the NY Daily News we read that the Mets think that Gary Sheffield and his bad back and Carlos Delgado with his strained oblique are done for the year.

Now if you ask Omar Minaya about Delgado he mentions " It's not decided if he's done," he said. "He's going to test it running this week and see how it works."

Sheff had 10 homers and a 279 avg and Delgado was hitting 298 with 4 homers in 26 games.

Now with all the injuries Sheff had to let him go to another team would have hurt the Mets how? I mean did they really think he could play without getting injured?

Delgado to me is done. Just look at Beltran while he is batting. His timing is off and he has been out since what Mid June? Delgado has been out since May and the minor league season is over so where is he going to play rehab games ? In Citi Field. Once he had the oblique strain the season and maybe his Mets career are over.
