Run Pelf Run
After a dismal, pathetic, terrible, unforgivable outing on Tuesday, Pelfrey actually went MIA.
After being quite upset with himself, Pelfrey changed into a running suit, and left the ballpark. Pelfrey recounts his actions, "I was so upset, I had to get outside. I had to get some fresh air. I had to breathe."
David Lennon - Newsday writes that Big Pelf started running and running. He ran laps that were 13 blocks long...all while his team was getting pummeled.
General Manuel wasn't too happy, and had a 30 minute meeting with the young righthander. Afterwards, Pelf had this to say, "If you had talked to me in the sixth inning, I would have done something I would have regretted."
Mets pitching coach had this to say about his pupil, "I think he's tense,. I see him get irritated at one bad call. I don't know if all these things that have happened over the year have worn him out mentally. Physically he's fine. The delivery is in great shape. His bullpens have been fantastic. But the tension of this year has really beat him up."
Sort of reminds me of Forrest Gump...
