Mets need catcher? Take a look at Dioner Navarro

If the Mets want a catcher either to compliment or be the full time catcher the pickings are not great on the free agent list.

Bengie Molina, Josh Bard, Henry Blanco just to name a few and of course the one the Mets stiffed a couple of years ago Yorvit Torrealba .

Well if the Rays Non Tender Dioner Navarro they should maybe look his way.

He is coming off and off year for the Rays batting only .218 but the 25 year old is 1 year removed from bringing the young Rays staff to a World Series in 2008. He was an all star that year when he wound up hitting .295 in 427 at bats with 7 homers. He also throws out about 30% of the runners.

The Mets might be able to get him relatively cheap if the Rays non tender him a contract.

Catching seems to be a low priority in the Mets off season plans but this would be a nice under the radar move if the Mets could make it happen
