The Mets might not want to go the pricey route of adding a Matt Holliday or Jason Bay since that might restrict them when it comes to adding a pitcher or upgrading at 1st base.
So now there are rumors circulating that the Mets are showing interest in the Angels Juan River as being report by Joel Sherman here Rivera hit 25 homers for the Angels last year and comes across as a cheap alternative.
The Mets are also linked to Josh Willingham of the Nationals. Of course I don’t think he would be a smart move since his defense, which did improve, is not something to write home about.
