Jason Bay a new Met and a no nonsense guy,

Well I am sure Jason is happy this day is over. With being asking a multitude of questions some of the same over and over the Mets now have a player who seems no nonsense and is ready to tackle left field in Citi Field. A couple of notes from today I would like to point out. Some already mentioned by my partner in Metdom Metfan73

I dvrd the Citi Field press conference from earlier today and I have to give Kudos to a reporter from I think the Queens Courier? who asked Bay what he thought about Peter Gammons comment about playing in Bierut instead of playing for the Mets. Bay of course didn't diss the Ole Man but said that he and his family and his agent were in lockdown since the off season began and never talked to anybody so the opinion of him not wanted to play in NY was just someones opinion. Of course most of the stuff that was out there was just for these guys to have something to write.

The fact the deal was done before xmas and that everyone was basically out of the country and that is why no one new about it for a couple of days on top of the fact that while everyone was wondering what the hold up was.. I love the fact that it was kept secret and it didn't leak BRAVO BRAVO!!!. The Mets and Bay did it they want they wanted with no concern for the public and us Met fans. That is the way it should be. As fans we do way too much whining!

Love hearing Bay have no concerns about playing in Citi field and the fact he feels he is a run producer and not a home run hitter. This guy is just what the Mets need. Focus on all the aspects and dont let the new field get in his head which he seem to have no problem dealing with a big market like Boston. Plus hitting in the clutch. He hit over .300 with 2 outs and runners in scoring position. He isn't like Wright in the fact that David seems to want to appease the public with statements that seem forced and what is expected from him . Also David always seems to try to do more then he is capable of . Bay looks like he can be a leader in the clubhouse and lead by just busting it all the time.

One thing about Omar. He needs to spend sometime watching video of him talking in press conferences. He uses the same phrases over and over .He loves to use the phrase"with that being said" . NO one ever uses this phrase more then Omar. He shouldn't come off as nervous as he is. Even Jason Bay seemed more comfortable when he mentioned that the reporters should ask Omar a question he is just standing there.
