Jose Reyes in camp . Fernando Nieve pitches a bullpen session.

It must be spring down south since its not spring up here in the northeast. As we get another couple of inches of snow we see that the big smile is back on Jose Reyes.

Reyes doesnt need to report until next week but he is already smiling taking sprints on the grounds of the Mets spring training home and taking hits in the batting cage. Of course its early but its really nice to see one of the faces of the Mets being himself. Welcome back Jose!!!

According to Adam Rubin
" Fernando Nieve arrived and threw a bullpen session. It was Nieve’s first time throwing off a mound since mid-January, when he was pitching in the Venezuelan winter-league playoffs. There’s no sense of any lingering trouble from the gruesome quadriceps tear he suffered last season in Atlanta. Nieve is the pre-camp front runner for the No. 5 spot in the rotation, according to Jerry Manuel. "

He might be the favorite but he will have alot of competition this spring.
