Rod Barajas on Mets radar but are the Mets on his ?

The Mets are continuing discussions with free agent catcher Rod Barajas about accepting a minor-league contract, according to a source.

FOXSports.com reports the Mets are "negotiating with (Barajas) on a one-year deal, according to major-league sources.

"Barajas, 34, likely would get the bulk of playing time for the Mets ...," Rosenthal writes.

Barajas hit .226 for the Blue Jays last season. There are other teams interested in the 34 year old. In fact there has been word that the Rangers offered him a minor league deal which he declined. So not sure if the Mets offer the same thing why he would think it would be great to play here.

At this point he is still looking for a major league contract and the moment a team has an injury he will be scooped up.
