As we watch the Mets prospect continue his torrid hitting this spring there was a nice article over at Newsday regarding F Mart and his little chats with former Met Moises Alou.
No it was not about comparing injury notes. Alou talked to the kid about that F-Mart has the talent but he needs to be smart and realize that there is alot of work to be involved to be a major league hitter. This is coming from a guy who was a professional hitter in his own right.
It is good to see that someone has reached this kid and the light seems to be on in F-Mart at this point. Raw talent can only get you so far. In watching the kid he seems to be driving the ball this spring .
Alou mentions that he will be around this weekend in Florida to talk more with F Mart. Thank you Mr Alou. Glad to see you still out there helping your former team . Honestly I would rather see you working with young Met players then Straw. He seems to be more of the mindset of keeping guys on the right path and Alou can actually teach something about hitting.
