As we near the end of another day of florida ball the Mets dropped a game to the Braves in extra innings 7-6
Jonathan Niese got hit in the first inning for 3 runs and 3 hits and 2 walks. Fernando Nieve got hit for 3 runs in 3 innings. Nelson Figueroa who doesnt seem to get much credit pitched another 2 scoreless innings with his rubber arm.
The Mets Chris Carter, dubbed the animal by Manager Jerry,slugged a home run and drove in 4 rbi's . He now has 3 homers in very limited at bats.
Omar chatted with the media to reaffirm the diagnosis for Jose Reyes . Even though it doesnt look to0 serious right now the Mets and Reyes are waiting on the results of another test which they should have thursday. It has been reported that Reyes hyperthryoid might be very slight case and might not even need medication. The Mets wont put a timetable on his return but he could be back in action pretty soon if all goes well.
Mets play the Sox and go against Mr Lackey on thursday. Which will be on SNY.
