No Walking allowed

Yes Pelfrey pitched pretty good yesterday. He used different pitches besides his patented sinker. He even had a funny quote saying sometime he plans on being a pitcher or something to that effect. There is another item I noticed while looking at the box score that has kind of gone under the radar. See below

Big Pelf 4 innings 4 hits 1 run 2 k's no walks

Mejia 1 inning no hits no k's no walks

Calero 1 inning no hits no k's no walks

Desssens 1 inning no hits no k's no walks

Stoner 2 innings 1 run 3 hits no k's no walks

Did you catch that? No not the fact that all the relievers didn't strike out any batters. That we went an entire game went with out a walk. Is that crazy or what? Want to know something else Pelfrey who walked about 3 batters per 9 innings has only 1 walk in 10 innings.

How many walks does Mejia have in 8 plus innings of work ? zippo!!!!

A credo the Mets have chatted about all season right now is on the correct path. This is something for some reason with the focus on the Mets pitchers has fallen below the radar.

Yes I know its early and its in the spring but come on its something that you have to at least appreciate and of course mention it Why? Because it is really nice to think of watching Pelfrey and the others pitch like they should. Good job big Pelf Good job Mejia!! Good job Dessens! Keep it up!
