Mets pitching matchups vs Indians

Back to Mets baseball tonight has the Mets move into Cleveland for a 3 game set against the 25-37 Indians who have been playing better of late. They just had the Nationals in over this past weekend and took 2 out of 3.

The Mets have there best chance of a blowout in game 1 as Santana goes against Right Justin Masterson who is 2-5 and a ERA of 4.74. Most of the Mets have not faced him. Barajas has 2 at bats but no hits. Santana is 7-7 against the tribe but most of the present day Indians have not fared well against him. Former National Austin Kearns has 12 at bats but only 2 hits. Hafner has 4 homers in 40 at bats but a .150 average. Former Met Anderson Hernandez is now with the Indians and will most likely play against his former team.

The Mets also face Mitch Talbot in game 2 against Jon Niese . Talbot is 7-4 with a ERA of 3.59.

Then on Thursday look for the Mets to go against Jake Westbrook who has been part of many rumors that the Indians might unload him before the trade deadline. He is 4-3 with a ERA of 4.62. R A Dickey will get the call on Thursday.

Mets will not see a lefty as a starter this series so Wright who seems locked in at the plate the last couple of games might see himself shaking his head before the series is over as he walked back to the bench after being stuck out. If they pitch him up in the zone he might have a long series.
