The Mets got home early this morning after sweeping the Indians with a final 6-4 win last night after K Rod the Drama king struck out the side in the 9th with a man to preserve a victory for R A Dickey.
During the post game Dickey gave kudos to pitching coach Dan Warthen for pushing the pitcher to use his hard knuckleball since after the first inning his regular knuckler was not moving or settling in the strike zone. Nice to here an interview that was straight forward like that. Good job for the 5-0 Dickey who has a ERA of under 3.
Mets now will be playing the Yankees for 3 games in the Bronx after the Yankees lost 2 out of 3 to the Phillies. Takahashi faces Vasquez in a rematch from there Friday night bout in Citi Field a couple of weeks ago.
Mets are now 10 games over .500 and still 1/2 game out of first since the Braves are still hot after beating the Rays.
