Dillion Gee # 35 goes tonight against the Nationals.

The Mets will have Rookie Dillion Gee going tonight against the high powered 13 run offense of the Nationals . Gee a 24 year old righty will make his major league debut tonight wearing #35. He went 13-8 for the Bisons in 28 starts and even though they say he is not a strikeout pitcher he struckout  an average of 9 per start . He averaged about 2 walks per start.  He will go tonight instead of Johan will miss his start due to his pectoral muscle issue that the Mets are playing it safe with.

The # he will wear on his back is 35. Looking back we had the reliever Joe Smith wearing it and earlier this decade it was Rick Reeds number. Dave Weathers wore this number as well as who can forget the likes of pitchers MikeDeJean, Lee Gutterman and Joe Sambito back in the Mid 80’s and everyone favorite hitting extraordinaire Pat Tabler. Even Manager Jerry wore it as a coach in 2006 so Gee has a lot to live up to.

Be nice if the kid could just go 5-6 innings with minimal damage as the Mets will be facing a rookie as well. Maya faced a couple of the rookie Mets when he pitched against the Bisons back in August who had trouble hitting the kid who changed his speeds.

How will Gee fare tonight? Check out our new poll.
