Jeff Wilpon speaks to Francesa: Says good things about Beltran: Calls team medicore

As we wind up the crazy day with a 20 minute chat that Mike Francesa had with Jeff Wilpon. He chats about the GM search, the lack of toughness of the team and eating contracts.

Jeff speaks about how the team lacks toughness and gives kudos to Carlos Beltran for how he handled himself down in Philly when he took upon himself to speak up about the Utley slide against Tejada. He gave Beltran alot of credit for toughness something the team lacked.

He also mentions that Omar never asked to eat the contract of Oliver Perez. Wilpon said that he,Katz, and his father Fred usually act like a 3 person panel and at time 1 of the 3 of them thought they should release Ollie but Omar said anything.

Jeff came across on being pretty upset with the teams lack of performance and said the team was medicore and it was time for change.
