Former Met Chris "Animal" Carter Finds A Home In Tampa Bay

Chris Carter, who was acquired by the Mets from Boston in the Billy Wagner trade in 2009, was picked up by the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Mets non-tendered Carter back in December to free up room on the team's 40 man roster.

Fans had taken to Carter, who always came to play, and showed a work ethic that was second to none, thus the nickname, Animal.

Carter had no foreseeable role with the Mets, but fans seemed to take a liking to him. He is a great story of hard work, and hopefully for Carter, he will finally get his chance.

Carter has a special relationship with his grandfather, as we reported last summer, and hopefully his grandfather will be able to see his grandson play when the Rays are in Cleveland.

Best of luck to Carter.
