This marks season # 50 in Mets land. It begins tonight in a little bit more then 4 hours. The Mets and big Pelf will be up against the Marlins and Josh Johnson.
The Mets have won the last 5 openers. They are a major league best 32-17 to start the season. This years lineup for opening day will be a little different then 2010 which had Cora, Castillo,Wright, Jacobs, Bay, Matthews Jr, Francoeur, Barajas and Santana..
Cora is now with the Nationals, Castillo was released by the Phillies, Not sure what Jacobs is up to these days or Matthews Jr besides counting his $$. Frenchy hit a homer run in 4 at bats with the Royals last night. Barajas is still with the Dodgers.
