The Mets didnt do any more deal at the deadline yesterday and that boaded well for Scott Hairston. the Mets took a couple of calls from other team to see if they could secure him for there bench. Mets didnt feel the return was warranted especially since depth right now is weak with injuries at Buffalo.
So what did Hairston do? Just cracked 2 solo shots. The 2nd being with 2 outs in the 9th to tie the game! Of course Parnell did is usual and couldnt preserve a tie but Hairston already prove that it was better that the Mets kept him.
The Mets return home tonight for a 3 game set against the Fish and then the Braves come in over the weekend with the Mets on life support in the Wild Card Race.
The Mets are 2-2 without Beltran and scored 2 runs in the last 2 games against the Nationals. FYI-Beltran has had a slow start with Giants 1 rbi and 2 hits in 4 games with the Giants.
